The Deadline to apply for a 2010 Classroom Grant has passed

June 15, 2010. The grant committee is reviewing apllications now. We received 60 grant requests. Winners will be announced June 1st. Read more about the grant program here or call our office at 541-322-5493 for more information.

The 5th Annual Trivia bee raises nearly $40,000!

The First Annual Chili Throwdown COOKED!

Thanks to Mt Bachelor, Ski for Schools "week" is a Success!

The 2010 Ski for Schools event ran for a whole week this year and reaised nearly $20,000 for Bend-La Pine and Redmond schools!

The Education Foundation awards nearly $50,000 in 2008 Classroom Impact Grants!

Congratulations to all the winners of the 2008 Classroom Impact Grants. An awards reception will be held this October to kick off the school year in style. Teachers, Schools, and Supervised Student Groups are eligible to apply for awards of up to $2500 annually. WILCO Concert Supports Schools!

Popular Chicago-based band WILCO will perform at the Les Scwab Ampitheater August 23rd as a part of the Wells Fargo Summer Concert Series. Thank you to WILCO and Wells Fargo for donating $1 of each ticket sold to the Education Foundation to help enrich our schools! Please join us for a fun evening by buying your tickets at the Ticket Mill in the Old Mill District or online via TicketMaster.

Principal for a Day scheduled for October 23rd

Get called to the Principal's office for something good! Join us October 23rd as we invite community leaders into our schools from 7:30 AM to 1 PM to live a morning in the life of a School Principal. The event finale is a catered luncheon where community leaders can network with their peers and school officials while learning about how our schools are working to build future community leaders. To apply to participate in the program, please fill out our online application and we will contact you with more information.

“Holiday Cheer” CD sales to benefit schools and high school choirs

This wonderful CD is a project of The Education Foundation for Bend La Pine Schools is sponsored by Umpqua Bank and Summit 1031 Exchange. The CD featured 14 holiday recordings performed by the choirs of Bend, Mountain View, La Pine and Summit high schools. More information can be found here.

Foundation sponsors “Educated Monster” Collaborative Art Exhibit at Education Center

A Collaborative art exhibit titled “The Educated Monster” created by the students of Juniper Elementary, Pilot Butte Middle School, Mountain View High School and Central Oregon Community College will be on display through December 14th on the 2nd floor of the Education Center located at 520 NW Wall. An artists reception will take place on Friday, December 7th from 5-8PM. A flyer promoting the event can be found here.

Education Foundation Awards $36,329 in Classroom Impact Grants giving teachers and students the tools to teach & learn

The Education Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of 27 grants totaling $36,329 through the 2007 Classroom Impact Grants program. These grants will provide invaluable resources to our teachers and directly benefit 8,601students. For more information & list of grants click here.

Mid Oregon Credit Union Mini Grant Program provides $100 grants to teachers for small educational projects for Central Oregon School Districts including Bend-La Pine Schools. Funds may be requested for classroom supplies, special projects and field trips with a preference for funding requests that relate to financial education. Once approved, funds are disbursed as requests until the annual budget is depleted. For more information, contact kyle@midoregon.com or call 541-382-1795.

Mid Oregon Credit Union has access to a plethora of financial literacy materials for all age groups. These materials are available at no cost to the local schools.
